Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 3/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Gale warning between Green Cape and Gabo Island. Strong Wind Warning for coastal
waters between Wooli and Green Cape.  Refer to www.bom.gov.au for the latest
warning information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A weak high over the state on Tuesday will result in  generally fine conditions
on Tuesday, although south to southeast winds will bring isolated showers or
drizzle along the coast and adjacent ranges. Another weaker trough is expected
to move across later Wednesday, but very little precipitation is expected to
accompany it. Thursday should be generally fine ahead of a front which will move
through late Friday/Saturday and which has the potential to bring some
widespread rain to the state.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent east ranges, clearing in the
south. Fine elsewhere. South to southeast winds, fresh along the coast.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers in the far northeast. The chance of showers elsewhere,
initially in the west then extending to the east. Thunderstorms developing in
the far west and possibly about the northern plains late afternoon or evening,
however, little precipitation is expected. Northeast to northwest winds, turning
southwesterly later over the southern inland.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers in the far northeast. Fine over the remainder.  Light to
moderate west to southwest winds extending through most of the state. Northeast
winds along the coast ahead of a moderate south to southeast change along the
southern half of the coast.
Forecast for Friday
Patchy rain developing in the west and south, extending to the South Coast later
and increasing in the far southwest late evening and overnight. Thunderstorms
developing in the far west during the afternoon and evening near a
southwesterly change. Cloud increasing from the west over the remainder, but
remaining mostly fine. North to northwest winds, becoming fresh to strong and
gusty in the west ahead of the change, and freshening northeast winds along the
coast.
