Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 5/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings
Nil.
Weather Pattern
A low pressure trough will persist over eastern Victoria during the next few
days. A high pressure system will develop south of the Bight later Friday as a
weak cold front moves through Tasmania. The high will then persist south of the
Bight until early next week. 
Victoria
Thursday:  Drizzle patches in the south clearing by early afternoon. Isolated
showers and thunderstorms developing over the central and eastern ranges this
afternoon and evening. A warm to hot day in the north with wind becoming
generally light. Milder in the south with light to moderate south to southeast
wind and afternoon seabreezes.
Fire Danger:      High to very high in the north. Locally high in the south.
UV Index: 11 [extreme] decreasing 5 [moderate]
Friday:    Morning fog and drizzle patches in the south. A few showers
developing in the south and east. Isolated thunderstorms in the east. Generally
warm in the north; milder in the south. 
Saturday:  Isolated coastal drizzle clearing. Isolated thunderstorms in the
east. Mild to warm. 
Sunday:    Morning coastal drizzle. Isolated thunderstorms about the east. Mild
to warm.
Forecast for Melbourne
Thursday
Drizzle patches clearing by early afternoon then fine although partly cloudy.
Light to moderate southerly wind, fresh at times during the afternoon and
evening.

Local morning fog and drizzle, then shower or two later. Wind tending moderate
southerly.    Min 14    Max 26

Morning drizzle then fine.                  Min 15    Max 23

Morning drizzle then fine.                  Min 14    Max 25

Mainly fine and mild.
Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Thursday:  Southerly wind of 10 to 15 knots, reaching 20 knots during the
afternoon and evening. Waves around half a metre rising to 1 metre in the
afternoon and evening.
Friday:    Southeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots, tending southwest to southerly
and increasing to 15 to 20 knots. Waves around half a metre, rising to 1 metre
later. 
Saturday:  South to southeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots, reaching 20 knots
during the afternoon and evening. 
Sunday:    South to southeasterly wind of 10 to 20 knots.
Headline Melbourne: Becoming fine.  
Headline Victoria:  Clearing drizzle in the south. Isolated showers and
