MELBOURNE - Feb 5/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

For Thursday 
WARNINGS:

STATE FORECAST
Very High fire danger inland and in the Southern Tablelands district.  
Cloudy in the northeast with a few showers, extending to the northern inland
border today or tomorrow.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms on the far southern ranges this afternoon and
evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over much of the inland and the
southeast Friday afternoon and evening. Fine elsewhere. 
Areas of bushfire smoke in the southeast. 
Warm to very warm in the east, very warm to hot inland. Moderate southeast to
northeast winds, fresh in afternoon and evening on the coast.
