Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 28/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EDT Saturday 1 November 2008.
Warning Summary at issue time

Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by
telephone 1300-659-217 or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system will track across Bight waters to cross Tasmania tonight
then over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure system will develop at
the head of the Bight early on Wednesday before moving steadily southeastwards
with an associated cold front entering Victoria later on Thursday and crossing
to the east of the State early on Friday. A low pressure system is likely to
develop over Victoria on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday
Fine. Light to moderate southerly winds easing.
Forecast for Wednesday
Fine apart from morning fog patches in the south, and isolated showers at night
in the far southwest. Mild to warm.
Maximum Fire Danger: High to very high in the north.
Forecast for Thursday
Scattered showers extending across western and central parts of the state,
isolated in the east. Isolated thunderstorms extending from the west. Warm to
hot.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers in the north clearing. Scattered showers near and south of the
ranges. Isolated thunderstorms in central and eastern areas clearing. Mild to
warm.
Forecast for Saturday
Scattered showers, tending to rain about the ranges. Generally mild with
northeast to southeast winds.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.
