Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 27/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Coastal Wind Warning between Green Cape and Gabo Island. Refer to
www.bom.gov.au for the latest warning information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high over the central Tasman Sea is directing a warm fresh to
strong northerly airstream over New South Wales. A cold front will
bring milder south to southwest winds to much of the inland and
should reach the southern parts of the Mid North coast this morning
before stalling. Another high will move to the Tasman Sea on
Wednesday in the wake of the change with a southeast to northeast
airstream across the state. The next cold front should reach the far
west on Thursday night and the Hunter by Friday night. Isolated
showers and thunderstorms may accompany the change but little
precipitation is expected.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over northeastern parts.
Increasing cloud and late drizzle on the south coast. Fine elsewhere.
Moderate northwest to northeast winds over the northeast corner.
Moderate south to southeast winds elsewhere.
Fire danger: Very High: Riverina and Lower Western.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers about the coast and ranges, clearing from the south.
Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers in the west and south but mostly fine. Isolated
showers along the coast, contracting north and clearing during the
day. Freshening northerly winds ahead of a late southwesterly change
in the far southwest.
Forecast for Friday
Very warm to hot northerly winds ahead of a cooler south to southwest
change extending through the west and south. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms near the change but little precipitation.
