World Beans Lose ValueVANCOUVER - Oct 24/08 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets continued to lose value during the past week as supplies of new crop product improves in North America and China. Exporters in China have become more aggressive in recent weeks, leading markets lower. The U.S. grower index finished the week sank 103 points to 1132, versus 1016 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 75.2%, down 3.5 points from last week and compared to 76.9% at this time last year. The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1347, down 56 points from the previous week and compared to 1176 at this time last year.
