Few Changes in Chickpeas

VANCOUVER - Oct 24/08 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed in motionless trade during the past week.

Exporters report virtually no buying interest, with markets unconcerned with the selling attitude of North American growers or the potential size of India's coming rabi season kabuli chickpea crop.

Growers do not appear keen to push markets and seem willing to wait for buyers to come to them. Their attitude is helped by good cash returns from opening season sales of other crops. This will allow them to be patient.
