Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Oct 24/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary Fire weather warning: Fire danger will be extreme in the Mallee, Wimmera and Northern Country today. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments A trough will move from the Bight to reach western Victoria later today and weaken overnight. A cold front will move into western Victoria on Sunday morning and be east of the state by Monday morning. A high pressure system in the Bight will extend a ridge across Victoria on Monday. The ridge will move south of the state on Tuesday as a low pressure system looks likely to develop over South Australia. Victoria Saturday: Morning fog patches in Gippsland clearing to a fine day with high cloud increasing from the west. Generally warm to hot with freshening northerly winds, although milder west to southwest winds developing about the southwest coast in the evening. Sunday: Warm to hot in most parts at first with fresh and gusty northerly winds in most areas. Milder southwesterly winds in the southwest gradually extending eastward across central parts by the evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms following the change.
