Eastern U.S. Organic Grain and FeedstuffsSPRINGFIELD - Oct 22/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the eastern cornbelt in the United States.
Eastern Cornbelt Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 10/18/2008
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were
steady to lower. Trading activity was light for light to moderate
offerings. Feed grade corn and soybean was lower. Feed grade wheat
was steady. With organic corn and soybean prices drifting lower, producer
selling has increased mainly due to economic uncertainty. Forecasts
calling for rainfall in the cornbelt region which may delay harvest progress.
Reports of spelt dehulled ranging from .41 cents/lb. to .51 cents/lb.
Feed grade barley ranging from 7.25 to 7.75 per bushel.
September monthly and 3rd quarter averages of organic prices located below.
All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
