Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 15/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Nil. Refer to Warnings at www.bom.gov.au for the latest information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system will move over the Tasman Sea today and will
bring settled conditions to most of the state today and Friday,
although a lingering trough over the northern slopes will result in
some showers and possible afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast
today.  A front approaches the state from the west on Saturday and
this will  move over southern parts of New South Wales on Sunday.
Warmer north to northwest winds will affect the inland  over the
weekend, ahead of this change. The air air associated with this front
is not very moist.  It should result in cloudy periods, but little
if any precipitation is expected.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers or drizzle over the northern coast, ranges and
northwestern slopes with isolated thunderstorms on the slopes  and
plains north of about Narrabri. Clearing south of about Port
Macquarie during the morning.  Fine elsewhere. Fog  patches aboout
the ranges and coast. East to southeast winds tending northeast in
the southeast later.
Forecast for Friday
Early fogs in the east. Isolated showers on the far north coast. Fine
elsewhere. Southeast winds in the far northeast. North to northeast
winds over the remainder.
Forecast for Saturday
Fine. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine. Northwest to northeast winds, ahead of a gusty southerly change
in the south.
