Weak Currencies Benefit Lentil GrowersVANCOUVER - Oct 10/08 - SNS -- Dramatic declines in the value of the Canadian and Australian dollar is insulating growers in both countries from worries about the state of world markets. The Australian dollar has shed 20% of its value versus the U.S. during the past month, while the Canadian dollar has sunk 10%. This has added important support to grower bids in both countries, while leaving exporters room to manoeuver if they succeed in buying product from growers at today's bid levels.
