Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 10/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Nil. Refer to Warnings at www.bom.gov.au for the latest information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to northeast New South
Wales, while a low pressure trough lies over the inland. This trough
will weaken and move to the northwest today, but is expected to
generate unsettled conditions in conjunction with an upper
atmospheric disturbance. On Monday a front will move into western and
southern parts of the state, extending to the northeast during
Tuesday and triggering further showers and thunderstorms in many
districts.
Forecast for Saturday
Scattered showers over the northeast inland, tending isolated along
the coast. Isolated thunderstorms, chiefly afternoon, in the
southeast districts and possibly in the Upper Western district north
of Bourke. Fine in the far west. Light and variable winds over the
southern inland, tending east to northeast elsewhere and freshening
along parts of the coast.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers in the northeast contracting further northeast. Fine
elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the south, and
isolated showers possible about the central and northern slopes and
plains. Fine elsewhere. North to northwest winds freshening ahead of
a southwest change in the west and southeast.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine in the far northeast and the southwest. Showers and
thunderstorms elsewhere, clearing gradually from the west and
reaching northeastern parts late in the day. Northwest to northeast
winds ahead of a cooler south to southwest change.
