DES MOINES - Oct 8/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.

Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for the Week Ending      10/04/08

Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were mostly
steady on moderate demand and offerings.  Although prices during this trading
period have remained steady, it is noteworthy that prices during this past
week have fallen.  According to various sources, like conventional markets,
the downfall in organic markets is economy-driven.  Current prices for
organic corn are down about $1.00 to $2.00 per bushel from a week ago.
Organic soybean prices are down about $3.00 per bushel from a week ago.
Wheat prices are also down about $2.00 per bushel.  New crop corn and
soybeans have started to enter the market.  Soybean yields are reported to
be about average.  Monthly and third quarter average prices located below.
All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
