Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 6/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Strong Wind Warning for all offshore waters this morning. Refer to
Warnings at www.bom.gov.au for the latest information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure ridge is extending across the state as a cold front,
which moved through New South Wales yesterday, moves out into the
Tasman Sea. This ridge will produce fine weather throughout most of
New South Wales for the next couple of days. A weak southerly change
will move up the coast on Wednesday and may produce a brief coastal
shower or two along the central and north coast with its passage,
otherwise no significant precipitation is expected until later in the
week. On Thursday and Friday a low pressure trough is expected to
develop over the northeast of the state and produce showers on the
north coast and ranges.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine and mostly sunny, apart from the chance of a coastal shower or
two this morning on the far south coast. Local frosts about the
central and southern ranges, and adjacent western slopes. Light to
moderate south to southwest winds, turning easterly along the coast
later.
Forecast for Wednesday
The chance of showers about the central and north coasts and adjacent
eastern ranges. Fine elsewhere. Local frosts about the ranges.
Southwest to southeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges north from Sydney,
becoming scattered in the far northeast and extending to the
northwest slopes. Northeast to southeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered in the far
northeast. Northeast to northwest winds.
