Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 6/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Gale Warning for coastal waters between Gabo Island and Ulladulla. Strong Wind
Warning between Point Danger and Ulladulla. Severe Weather Warning for locally
damaging winds. Refer to Warnings at www.bom.gov.au for the latest information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A broad low pressure trough lying across New South Wales is moving slowly
northeast. Meanwhile, a cold front is passing over southern districts, and will
continue to push cooler and generally drier air across the state as it
progresses towards the northeast. Following the front, a high pressure ridge
will extend across the state from the west, with stable and fine conditions
returning to most districts on Tuesday. Late in the week conditions are expected
to deteriorate in the northeast as onshore winds interact with an upper level
trough.
Forecast for Tuesday
The chance of morning showers on the central and north coasts. Fine and mostly
sunny elsewhere. Local frosts about the central and southern ranges, and
adjacent western slopes. Moderate south to southwest winds, turning easterly
along the coast later.
Forecast for Wednesday
The chance of showers about the central and north coasts and adjacent eastern
ranges. Fine elsewhere. Local frosts about the ranges. Southwest to southeast
winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges north from Sydney, becoming
scattered in the far northeast and extending to the northwest slopes. Northeast
to southeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered in the far northeast.
Northeast to northwest winds.
