Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Strong Wind Warning for all New South Wales Coastal Waters. Refer to
Warnings at www.bom.gov.au for the latest information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure trough extends from the central eastern to
northwestern parts of New South Wales bringing showers and
thunderstorms to most of the districts . During Monday the trough
will contract to the northeast as a cold front moves through the west
and southeast of the state with colder and drier air to follow.
Behind the front a high pressure ridge will develop across the state
bringing stable and mostly fine weather conditions.
Forecast for Sunday evening
Fine on the far north coast and in the far southern inland. Showers
and thunderstorms over the remainder of the northeastern half of the
state.  Showers extending southwards during the afternoon and
evening. Northwest to northeast winds  in the northeast and west to
southwest elsewhere.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms through the most districts
clearing from the west during the day. Snow showers developing on the
higher Alps later. Northwest winds ahead of a cold south to southwest
change, gusty near the coast.
Forecast for Tuesday
The chance of morning showers on the central and north coasts. Fine
elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
The chance of showers on the central and north coasts. Fine
elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the north coast. Southwest to southeast winds.
