Birdseeds Finish on Weaker NoteVANCOUVER - Oct 3/08 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets in the United States finished the week on a softer note against harvest selling pressure for both sunflower and millet, while Canadian markets were steady. Steep declines were recorded for white proso millet in the U.S. midwest against grower selling pressure. Even steeper declines were registered by sunflower markets, with the most aggressive confectionary sunflower buyers withdrawing from markets, resulting in a solid drop in bid levels. Oil-type sunflower markets were also down sharply in sympathy with a nearly 20% decline in soybeans.
