MELBOURNE - Feb 1/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
WARNINGS: A severe thunderstorm advice is current for the Lower West and SW districts. Fire weather warning issued for eastern parts of the SW Land Division for today. Strong Wind Warning issued for coastal waters from Mandurah to Eucla. STATE FORECAST SW Land Division: Isolated showers and thunderstorms in western parts, with possible strong squalls, contracting eastwards during the day. Isolated showers remaining, mainly in coastal parts, tending scattered about the SW corner and southern coast. Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, southwest Interior and western Eucla: Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Kimberley: Showers and thunderstorms, tending scattered in the afternoon. PERTH AND METROPOLITAN: Cooler with a few showers. A thunderstorm or two this morning, with possible strong squalls. Moderate W'ly winds, shifting SW winds and freshening this afternoon.
