Tighter Sunflower ResidualsWASHINGTON - Sep 30/08 - SNS -- Old crop sunflower stocks in all positions on September 1, 2008 totaled 265 million pounds, down 12% from a year ago, according to the USDA's stocks in all positions estimates for the United States. All stocks stored on farms totaled 32.2 million pounds and off-farm stocks totaled 232 million pounds. Stocks of oil type sunflower seed are 176 million pounds; of this total, 26.3 million pounds are on-farm stocks and 149 million pounds are off-farm stocks. Non-oil sunflower stocks totaled 88.9 million pounds, with 5.91 million pounds stored on the farm and 83.0 million pounds stored off the farm.
