Tenders Lift U.S. LentilsVANCOUVER - Sep 26/08 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with USDA food aid buying continuing to support markets in the United States. Government buyers were active during the past week, issuing a PL-480 food aid tender for 7,400 metric tons (MT) of lentils for shipment from origin during November. This lifts the total quantity of lentils already bought or under tender from the USDA to 30,480 MT, more than double the 14,650 bought for shipment from origin between September and November last year.
