USDA Buys 24,790 MT of pulsesKANSAS CITY - Sep 17/08 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 24,790 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 098A, the pulses packed in 50 kg bags for shipment from interior plants between October 16 to November 6 and between November 7 to November 28 for plants located at port. In announcing the tender results, the USDA said, "There were no offers for 90 metric tons of Yellow Split Peas under consolidation 425151-1 and 20 metric tons of Red Beans under consolidation 421251-1."
