Eastern U.S. Organic Grain and FeedstuffsSPRINGFIELD - Sep 10/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the eastern cornbelt in the United States.
Eastern Cornbelt Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 9/6/2008
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were
mostly steady. Trading activity was light for moderate offerings.
Feed grade corn was steady. No price comparison for feed grade soybeans.
Small grains were steady to firm. The cooler temperatures this week
have many concerned over weather conditions effecting this year's late crop.
Reports of soybean prices moving lower due to lack of demand for soybean
meal and higher freight charges. Offers for soybean meal FOB the plant
ranged from 1000.00 to 1025.00 per ton.
August monthly and 2nd quarter averages of organic prices located below.
All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
