Red Lentil Bids Back OffVANCOUVER - Aug 29/08 - SNS -- International lentil markets continued their transition into new crop trading basis even though harvest activity in parts of western Canada was slowed by rainfall during the past week. Green lentils managed to finish the week's trading mostly unchanged in Canada and the United States, while red lentils were easier in both Canada and Australia. Despite the price declines, red lentil values remain at historic highs for this time of year, with grower bids in Australia just under A$1000 per metric ton (MT) and Canadian growers still looking at CDN $852.50 MT bids after dropping almost $90 against improved deliveries of new crop product.
