Tenders Lift U.S. LentilsVANCOUVER - Aug 22/08 - SNS -- North American lentils markets finished the week on a mixed note, with harvest selling pressure starting to affect Canadian spot markets and USDA tender activity supporting American markets. The past week saw the USDA tendered for 18,140 metric tons (MT) of lentils for October shipment from origin. This lifted the quantity of lentils which could be bought for shipment as food aid during the first two months of the 2008-09 marketing campaign to 21,500 MT, versus just 3,000 MT during the same two months last year.
