Lentils Ease Into New Crop PricingVANCOUVER - Aug 15/08 - SNS -- International lentil markets were generally easier during the past week as the volume of new crop product delivered by growers started to pick up its pace in Canada and the United States. This was clearly reflected in a general decline in Canadian inter-dealer markets, though grower bids were mixed on the week. Green lentils were unchanged to firmer, while red lentils were softer. Red lentil markets were helped by state trading companies in India, with PEC Limited tendering for 4,000 metric tons (MT) of Canadian and/or Australian product for September shipment.
