USDA Buys 17,240 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Aug 6/08 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 17,240 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 088, the pulses packed in 50 kg bags for shipment from interior plants between September 1 to September 22 and between September 23 to October 13 for plants located at port.
In releasing details of the purchases, the USDA said, "Due to a change in program requirements, 3,550 metric tons of Garbanzo Beans under consolidation 421051-1 were not purchased."
