No 1 Red Lentil Grower Price Review in Canada
VANCOUVER - Aug 6/08 - STAT -- Canadian No 1 Red Lentil markets finished the 2007-08 marketing year with prices offered to growers rocketing 58% above the recent three year average annual price offered to growers in that country.
The average price paid for No 1 Red Lentil was CDN$32.97 per 100 pounds (cwt), compared to an average annual bid of $20.83 during the latest three year period for farmers dressed merchandise delivered processing plants.
Analysis of the monthly bid pattern reveals growers the highest monthly average bid was $52.00 per cwt in June, while the lowest monthly average bid level was $22.05 per cwt in August.
