Upper U.S. Midwest Organic Grain and Feedstuffs

DES MOINES - Jul 30/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.

Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for the Week Ending 07/26/08

Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were steady
to weaker on moderate demand and offerings. The corn and soybean crops
have seen much improvement over the weeks with the warmer weather and
timely rains. Some areas thought have seen some wind damage from recent
storms. South Dakota's conventional spring wheat harvest is behind due
to rain. For the week ending July 27, the USDA shows that very little
spring wheat has been harvested, compared to 30 percent a year ago and
26 percent for the five year average. Winter wheat harvest is behind too.
National oat harvest is lagging too with only 18 percent completed this
week, compared to 41 percent last year. Several tons of wheat mids sold
during the period from $280 to $300 per ton. A few new crop corn sales
from $10.50 to $11.00 per bushel. Monthly and second quarter average
prices located below. All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot
market.
