Lentils Hold Value in Light TradeVANCOUVER - Jul 25/08 - SNS -- North American lentil markets held their values during the past week on inter-dealer markets under seasonally quiet trading conditions. Red lentil markets continue to experience ongoing buying interest from Turkey and Middle Eastern destinations, while green lentil markets are seeing mainly hand-to-mouth buying by packagers and canners in Europe and elsewhere. Current high values for most agricultural commodities continue to constrain demand, with the result the marketing pipeline is operating with as close to minimum stocks as possible for lentils and other commodities.
