Turkey's Lentil Import Policy ChangeWASHINGTON - Jul 23/08 - SNS -- The U.S. agricultural attache for Turkey has provided precise details of the change in import duties on lentils and the authorization given to the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) to import product in 2007-08. The U.S. agricultural attache reports: The Turkish Government drastically reduced import duties for lentils on July 4, 2008. Promulgated by a Council of Ministers Decree and published in the Official Gazette, the reductions are effective immediately. All importers will now be charged the reduced duty rates for lentils.
