Few Changes in Field Peas
VANCOUVER - Jul 11/08 - SNS -- Field pea markets were mostly unchanged in light trade during the past week, reflecting the summer holiday mood in North America and Europe and good progress seeding summer pulse crops in India.
The USDA's seeded area estimates for field peas in the United States had no immediate impact on markets, with area rising up from an intended 820,000 acres to an actual 847,000.
Five-year average yields would see production drop from 708,745 metric tons (MT) last summer to 630,000 this year.
