French Field Pea Exports Improve in May
VANCOUVER - Jul 9/08 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France rose in May, jumping 5,070 metric tons (MT) from month earlier levels but plunging almost 44% below the volume exported last year.
Data from the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP) revealed exporters shipped 23,630 MT of peas in May, up from 18,560 MT in April and down from the 41,700 MT of field peas shipped the same month last year.
This lifted exports clearances so far during the 2007-08 marketing campaign to 207,370 MT, down 47.3% from the 393,635 MT shipped the first 11 months of the previous marketing year.
