Mixed Finish for Lentils
VANCOUVER - Jun 14/08 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with some softness reported in Canadian origin markets, while U.S. origin was steady.
Markets in Canada seem to be increasingly influenced by the arrival and departure of rainfall events in key producing areas in Saskatchewan.
Rain is encouraging growers and processors to sell, whereas any hint of dryness quickly results in a defensive posture in markets.
