Modest Shrinkage in Sugar SupplyWASHINGTON - Jun 10/08 - SNS -- Available supplies of sugar in the United States will be slightly lower than originally anticipated during the 2008-09 marketing year, according to the latest forecasts from the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board. "Projected 2008-09 U.S. sugar supply is decreased 63,000 short tons, raw value, from last month, due to lower beginning stocks. Ending stocks for 2007-08 are reduced due to lower processor production estimates compiled by the Farm Service Agency," the USDA said.
