Peas Close Week on Strong NoteVANCOUVER - Jun 6/08 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a strong note, helped by tender activity by India's state trading companies. At the recent CICILS convention in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, traders from India said they believed government entities would buy 1.5 million metric tons (MT) of pulses in 2008-09. State trading corporations in India bought 1.37 million MT of pulses in 2007-08. Of the total, 1.21 million MT have arrived and 1.05 million disposed of to local buyers.
