Strong Finish To For Yellow PeasVANCOUVER - May 30/08 - SNS -- North American field pea markets finished the week's trading on a relatively strong note, helped by the USDA's purchase of 11,560 metric tons (MT) of whole and split yellow peas at week's end. Supplies of yellow peas were already tightening in the United States and exporters report greater difficulty obtaining offers on U.S. origin product. Canadian field pea stocks are also tight, with the Canadian Grain Commission reporting stocks in the primary elevator system totalled just 26,600 MT as of May 25.
