Lentils Maintain Strong Tone
VANCOUVER - May 167/08 - SNS -- Spot lentil markets finished the week's trading on a strong note, with large green and all sizes of red lentils adding to the previous week's gains.
Smaller harvests in Turkey and middle eastern countries on account of acreage pressures and drought has created worries about a potential shortfall of pulses during Ramadan.
That important religious observance starts September 2, adding important pulse demand during the summer shipping period.
