Field Peas Unchanged to EasierVANCOUVER - May 167/08 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week little changed against seasonally light trading interest for spot market product. Forecasts of a dramatic recovery in the size of Australia's field pea and chickpea crops this year had no immediate impact on markets. Pulse Australia is predicting field pea area will expand from 292,500 to 306,000 hectares; while production is forecast to jump from 267,500 to 470,000 metric tons (MT) as long as growing conditions remain favorable.
