Direct Trade:
   In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas,
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota: not enough sales for
an adequate market price trend comparison.  Steers: Live basis; (all Grades: 200
head) 94.00.  Dressed basis; (all Grades: 1,148 head) 150.00.  Heifers: live
basis; (all Grades: 0 head).  Dressed Basis; (all Grades: 0 head).

inch square loin/2.0 inch depth plant delivered.  National direct trade barrows
and gilts 1.31 lower with prices ranging from 70.00-85.14, weighted average
price 80.68.  Iowa-Minnesota 1.50 lower at 71.60-85.14, weighted average price
81.82.  Western Cornbelt 1.43 lower at 71.00-85.14, weighted average price
81.79 and the Eastern Cornbelt .55 lower at 70.00-81.07, weighted average price
78.89.

   Live Basis (240-280 lbs): National direct barrows and gilt 1.57 lower at
54.82-63.00, weighted average 61.77.  Iowa-Minnesota 1.59 lower at 57.37-63.00,
weighted average 62.17.  Western Cornbelt 1.70 lower at 55.74-63.00, weighted
average 62.06.  Eastern Cornbelt .23 lower at 54.82-62.67, weighted average
61.44.

Terminal Markets:
   At Sioux Falls, barrows and gilts .50-1.00 lower with 49-51 percent lean 220-
280 lbs selling at 56.00.
   At St. Joseph, barrows and gilts steady with 46-50 percent lean 240-280 lbs
selling at 53.00-53.50.
