Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - May 15/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary Strong wind warnings are current for Victorian coastal waters west of Wilsons Promontory and also for Port Phillip and Western Port. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments A cold front will weaken over southwestern Victoria tonight. Another, stronger, cold front will move from south of the Bight to cross Victoria during Friday night and Saturday then a low pressure system will develop over the Tasman Sea during Sunday. A high pressure system will develop over South Australia on Monday. Victoria Friday: Patchy rain and isolated thunderstorms contracting to the northeast by the afternoon then rain areas and isolated thunderstorms redeveloping in the west during the day. A generally cool day with northerly wind strengthening ahead of a late west to northwesterly change in the west. UV Index: 1- 2 [Low] Saturday: Scattered showers tending to rain areas at first in the east. Isolated hail and thunder. Snow above 1000 metres. Cool to cold.
