Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars
per cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens,
except California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second
head and brewers are bulk.)

Domestic Situation
Domestic milled rice price quotes were mostly steady in south this week.
Price spreads in California have begun to narrow up however prices have
continued to move upward. By-products were uneven, mostly steady to lower in the
south and steady to lower in California.
In the south, long grain rice price quotes were steady, quoted mostly at
44.00-45.00; medium grain prices were steady to instances 5.00 higher, quoted
mostly at 40.00-42.00 in very tight supply; parboiled quotes were steady to
instances 4.00 higher, quoted mostly at 47.00-48.00; second heads were steady,
quoted mostly at 26.00-27.00; brewers were steady, quoted mostly at 25.00. Rice
by-products: Offers for rice bran were unevenly 5.00 higher to 8.00 lower,
mostly steady to 8.00 lower; millfeed was steady to 8.00 lower; hulls were
unevenly 2.00 higher to 5.00 lower, mostly steady to 5.00 lower.
In California, medium grain milled rice prices were steady to 3.00 higher,
quoted mostly at 40.00-43.00; short grain prices were steady to 11.00 higher;
second heads were 1.00-11.00 higher, quoted mostly at 27.00-28.00; brewers were
steady to 5.00 higher, quoted mostly at 23.00-25.00. Rice bran was steady to
20.00 lower; rice hulls were steady.
