Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - May 10/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY No warnings. STATE FORECAST for Sunday Showers about the east coast, extending inland over the eastern interior during the day. Dry further west. Moderate to fresh S/SE winds. EXTENDED OUTLOOK By Monday, increasing upper level instability will extend the showers further west over the eastern half of the state. Isolated thunderstorms will also develop over the SE in the afternoon. By Tuesday, much the same with shower activity reaching west to Central West and almost into the Warrego districts. By Wednesday, thunderstorm activity will reduce over the SE as the higher level instability decreases. Isolated showers over the eastern half of the state in the afternoon. Showers continuing about the coast. Minimum temperatures will gradually rise during this time as moisture levels increase over the interior. By Thursday the shower activity has reached just into the Channel Country with isolated thunderstorms over the southern part of the state. By Friday, showers and thunderstorms will contract east over southern QLD as a new trough moves --- STAT News Service
