Portland Export Grain Market Summary

PORTLAND - May 9/08 - SNS -- The USDA has released its latest daily summary of export trade and bid activity for shipment through Portland, Oregon. The report foscusses on wheat, barley, corn and oats.


Portland Daily Grain Report
Bids as of 11:30 a.m.;   Subject to change

   Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during May by rail or
barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars
per cwt.  Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods specified.
All other bids are for full May delivery.

   July wheat futures closed a 1/4 of a cent to 22-1/2 cents per bushel
lower compared to Thursday’s closes.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for May Portland delivery were not
available as most exporters were not issuing bids for old crop delivery.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for May
delivery trended 22 cents per bushel lower than Thursday’s noon bids
in following the lower Kansas City July wheat futures.

   Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for May
delivery were not well tested but bids were indicated as steady with
Thursday’s noon bids.

   Bids for US 2 barley for May delivery were not quoted today in a
very limited test.  Most exporters were not issuing bids for barley for
old crop delivery.

   Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn trended 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 cents per cwt lower
than Thursday’s noon bids due to lower Chicago July corn futures.
