Seasonal Improvement in French Pea ExportsVANCOUVER - May 9/08 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France continued this season's improved in March, jumping 6,235 metric tons (MT) from month earlier levels but plunging almost 60% below the volume exported last year. Data from the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP) revealed exporters shipped 22,735 MT of peas in March, up from 16,500 MT in February and down from the 56,245 MT of field peas shipped the same month last year. This lifted exports clearances so far during the 2007-08 marketing campaign to 164,885 MT, down 47.8% from the 315,850 MT shipped the first nine months of the previous marketing year.
