World Ag Markets Busy Through Mid-WeekCHICAGO - May 8/08 - SNS -- International agriculture commodity markets were more active through the mid-week trading sessions, with Jordan and Iraq active in grain markets and India busy ion vegetable oil markets. Markets were otherwise quiet in front of tomorrow's first USDA supply and demand fore casts for the 2008-09 marketing year. The USDA released its latest weekly sales summary before markets opened this morning. It pegged new export sales of corn at 337,200 metric tons (MT) of current and 63,300 of new crop for a total of 400,500 MT. Soybean export sales were pegged at 41,000 MT of current and 239,600 MT of new crop for a total 280,600 MT. The USDA pegged soybean meal sales at 122,200 MT of current and 12,100 of new crop for a total of 134,300 MT. Oil sales were pegged at 11,900 MT of current crop.
