Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars
per cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens,
except California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second
head and brewers are bulk.)

Domestic Situation
Domestic milled rice price quotes were uneven in south this week as prices
finally began to settle down and price spreads have narrowed up. Wide price
ranges continue in California as prices have continued to move upward. By-
products were uneven, mostly steady to lower in the south and steady in
California.
In the south, long grain rice prices ranged unevenly from 5.00 lower to 6.50
higher, quoted mostly at 44.00-45.00; medium grain prices were unevenly 1.50
lower to 2.50 higher; parboiled rice prices were steady to 3.00 higher, quoted
mostly at 46.00-48.00; second heads were steady, quoted mostly at 26.00-27.00;
brewers were steady to instances 3.00 lower, quoted mostly at 25.00. Rice by-
products: Offers for rice bran were unevenly 5.00 higher to 10.00 lower, mostly
steady to 10.00 lower; millfeed was steady to 3.00 lower; hulls were steady to
5.00 lower.
In California, medium grain milled rice prices were 2.00-3.00 higher, quoted
mostly at 32.00-36.00; short grain prices were steady to 5.50 higher; second
heads were steady; brewers were steady. Rice bran was steady; rice hulls were
steady.
