Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - May 1/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary Strong wind warnings are current for all Victorian coastal waters. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments A low pressure system to the southwest of Tasmania is drifting southwards. An associated low pressure trough will pass through southern Victoria during today. A high pressure system will move from South Australia to New South Wales on Saturday before drifting eastwards on Sunday as a cold front approaches southwestern Victoria. This cold front will then move through southern Victoria on Monday. Victoria Friday: Morning fog and drizzle patches in the north, then a partly cloudy afternoon with isolated showers developing. Scattered showers and local thunderstorms developing on and south of the Divide. A cool day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly and strengthening near the coast.
