And ProcessinWASHINGTON - Apr 30/08 - SNS -- Shelled Edible Grade Season to Date Utilization Down 2% from a Year Ago Peanut Stocks in Commercial Storage Totaled 2.32 Billion Pounds Peanut stocks commercial storage on March 31, 2008 totalled 2.32 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, versus 2.93 billion pounds a year ago, judging from the latest USDA update on the sector. This total includes 1.51 billion pounds of actual farmer stock. Shelled peanuts on hand totalled 741 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totalled 63.7 million pounds. Shelled peanut stocks totalled 557 million pounds of which 505 million pounds were edible grades and 52.2 million pounds were oil stocks. Edible grade stocks by type included 90.3 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 388 million pounds of Runners, and 26.8 million pounds of Spanish.
