Dairy Product Markets Generally Higher
WASHINGTON - Apr 25/08 - SNS -- Dairy product markets in the United States were generally up over the week ending April 19, judging from today's USDA data.
Cheddar Cheese prices realized for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.83 per pound. The price per pound rose 3.4 cents from last week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.77 per pound, down 0.4 cents compared to the previous week.
Butter prices paid for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.35 per pound. The U.S. price per pound advanced 0.3 cents compared to the previous week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices obtained for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged $1.26 per pound. The U.S. price per pound advanced $1.26 versus last week.
