More Bean Sellers Than Buyers
VANCOUVER - Apr 18/08 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week with a softer tone as processors in the United States and Argentina were most active sellers.
The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1325, down four points from the previous week and compared to 972 at this time last year.
The grower index finished down one point at 1149, about 94 points below its record high, but up from 882 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 77.6%, up 0.4 points from last week and down 3.6 points from this time last year.
